We all wish we could work from home. The allure is undeniable. With the promise of free and easy money on the internet, who wouldn’t be tempted to click on that big inviting link or to order that sure, can’t miss money making program that we see all of those other people making millions from on those late night infomercials?
Well, I hate to break it to you, but not only are those programs ALWAYS a scam, there is actually a very simple way to prove that by their very own words that they MUST be a scam!
The basic pitch that all of these programs have is that if you order their program, attend their seminar, or buy their e-book, then they will give you step by step instructions on how to make a fortune on the internet without lifting a finger. They claim that they will give you everything you need, top to bottom, and they then spend an inordinate amount of time extolling the virtues of their can’t miss system, and how despite all of those other people who are trying to scam you, this time you have finally found the real deal.
Well, there is one simple problem with those claims, and that is this: If this program is such a money making goldmine, why are they sharing it with you at any price, much less this bargain basement too good to be true price that they are offering it at? Think about it. If someone has a system that is guaranteed to make money to the point where anyone can follow the steps, work a few hours per week and make a fortune with it… then why do they need you at all? There are millions and millions of people who are more than willing to work for a few dollars per hour. If this program is so amazingly simple and guaranteed to make a ton of money, then wouldn’t the person who created the program simply hire workers to follow the steps he outlines, thereby guaranteeing him all of those profits instead of giving them away to anyone with $29.95 and a dream of easy money?
The simple fact is this. If there were truly a program with steps easy enough to follow that it guaranteed returns of $10, $20 or more per hour, then you can bet that the person who came up with that program would be hiring as many people as possible at $6 per hour to follow those steps and give him the rest. We have a name for those types of programs, they are called successful businesses. Anyone who promises you these types of returns with little or no effort on your part is simply lying, and the only successful business that they have found is scamming you.
There absolutely are plenty of ways to make money on the internet working from home. But making money on the internet follows the same rules as making money anywhere else in the world. You need to either come up with your own unique way to solve a problem, or come up with a unique solution or niche that you are better at than anyone else, you need to be able to market it, and bring in customers better than your competition. In other words, you need to be an entrepreneur. If that’s not you, then you need to be more realistic. Find something that you are good at, and then search for jobs that pay a fair wage for that job. Writers can make a fairly good living on the internet. There are always jobs posted at elance.com, and odesk.com looking for people with good writing skills for full or part time work. You can sell products on ebay, or start your own e-commerce site fairly easily these days, but unless you have a unique product or service, or have a way to sell your product or service at a better price then anyone else, then it’s an uphill battle, because you are competing against thousands of other people all over the world trying to sell the same thing, and they have been doing it far longer than you, and are almost certainly better at it as well.
The bottom line is this: The next time that you see an offer on TV, in your e-mail, or in a popup window or flashing banner on your computer offering you a can’t miss business opportunity take my word for it, you aren’t missing anything.
